Ages:
Youth with Type 1 Diabetes and Parent

Type 1 Diabetes Connections Camp is spending time together in the beauty of the Northwoods. Type 1 Diabetes Connection Camp is an opportunity for kids with T1-D and their parent to spend time together at camp, alongside other kids and parents with similar life experiences. Each day includes opportunities for connections and fellowship, as well as swimming, waterfront activities, creating, playing games, and simply enjoying the beautiful Northwoods of Minnesota. Our hope is that you will be renewed in your time at camp – as you share meals, converse, play, and relax.

PROGRAM DETAILS

While our staff plan a variety of activities during T1-D Connections Camp, nothing is “required attendance”. We want to have activities for all, but invite family members to join in on those things that interest them most. If your cup is filled by spending the afternoon sitting on the beach, we hope you will do so. Need a nap in a hammock? Please take it! Like to be active and plan to join in on all games, crafts, and other activities then we will have options for you.

Our summer staff will lead activities, conversations and games with the youth while parents have an opportunity to connect together over coffee and conversation. Kids will get to experience all the fun of camp with other campers who share similar life experiences with them. T1-D Connections Camp truly offers the magic of camp and an opportunity to grow in confidence and build friendships to your child. We also offer opportunities for self-care specific to parents, including massages, meditations and journaling practices. Come, grow individually, and together as a parent/child duo!
