Started by a generous gift from Dennis and Betty Anderson of Deer River, the Main VLM Endowment supports facility investment, site innovation, and capital development. These funds help to ensure God’s mission at camp.

THE MARY BAR FUND EST. 2000

Mary Thydean provided meals for our campers for decades. She gifted the Camp Vermilion Canoe Program with a high energy trail snack called “The Mary Bar”. Through the love and generosity of Karolyn Torgerson, this fund was started to honor Mary and her work. Gifts to this fund are split 50/50. The first half supports upgrades to our current Canoe Country equipment. The other half is invested so that the growth will support future canoe country projects, equipment, and program.

THE JULIE AND PATTI CAMPERSHIP FUND EST. 2019

This fund makes it possible for every child who wants to go to camp - gets to go to camp - no matter what! Gifts made to the fund will be split 50/50. The first half will be used on the current year’s camper needs. The second half will be invested, and managed by the VLM endowment fund with the growth being made available for future campership needs.

The VLM Endowments are managed by the VLM Endowment Team and invested with Thrivent Financial. Strategies focus on responsible investing and maximizing growth.  All gifts to these funds are tax deductible to full extent of the law.
