Keeping the Earth

“For the creation waits with eager longing for the revealing of the children of God.” – Romans 8:19

As people of Faith, how do we respond to a call to be caretakers? How do we understand what it means to have dominion over a planet we know little about? We take hope in the steadfast love of our Creator God, who has made all things with wisdom and grace; we take hope in the deep love and power of Jesus Christ, who walks beside us in all things; and we find hope, vision, and fresh energy in the power and presence of the Holy Spirit, who moves through us and all of creation to “renew the face of the earth.” Psalm 104:30

Mission Project

Each year campers make contributions through the VLM canteens to support various mission projects. Last year campers gave nearly $2300 for Spanish Bibles- part of the NE Minnesota Synod’s partner congregations in Honduras.  During the summer of 2010, camper offerings from Camp Hiawatha and Camp Vermilion will be donated to help support Lutheran Church efforts in Haiti.  We are working with the NEMN Synod office to determine the exact destination for the funds
