Swim Camp
(for boys and girls ages 9-14)
June 10-15
at Camp Hiawatha
Voyageurs Lutheran Ministry believes in showing youth that God is a part of everything they do – be it sports, swimming, canoeing, learning, worshiping or hanging out with friends. Swim Camp at Camp Hiawatha offers young athletes the opportunity to hone their skills while having a Christ-centered Bible camp experience.
This week is about learning and practicing new skills in the pool and in daily life and about balancing hard work and play. A week of Swim Camp will help participants see that it is great to be alive in God’s great northwoods!
Highlights of Swim Camp:
- Plenty of training time each day at a local pool
- Excellent Coaching Staff
- Daily campfire, all-camp games, worship, small group team building, and interactive Bible studies.
- Great meals for hungry athletes
- Outstanding Counselors
*Participants need to provide their own swimming gear.
Coaching for our first Swim Camp will be led by Sarah Bustrom. Sarah is a former VLM summer staff member and currently serves on our Board of Directors. She has spent many years coaching the local swim team in Grand Rapids. With a background in education, Sarah understands what student athletes need in order to improve their skills while also becoming a well rounded person. She has a love for camp and is eager to see all participants succeed during this new VLM program.
