Senior High Programs

Voyageurs Lutheran Ministry offers a wide variety of options for Senior High youth. Enjoy a more traditional week at camp or challenge yourself to try something new. Our programs provide you with opportunities for leadership development and adventure while also challenging you to live out your faith in the world. All of our programs will guide you in digging a little deeper into your faith and send you home with a renewed passion for your life of faith. Join us this summer!

Sojourners

(Formerly Sr. High camp; completed grades 9-12)

Join 6-8 cabin mates as you experience camp again for the first time! Your week includes swimming, games, campfires, worship, creative arts and in depth conversations on faith and life. There will also be time for more challenging canoe excursions, camping out and team building. It really is all the fun that you remember about camp but on a whole new level.

L.O.S.T.

Leadership, Outdoor Education, Service and Theology.

(completed grades 10-12)

Looking for a bit more from your camp experience? Why not get LOST? Spend two weeks at camp learning, growing and serving. There will be service opportunities, guest speakers, leadership training as well as many of your favorite camp activities. Our days will begin and end with prayer, and Bible study will be a time to dig deeper and explore your personal faith journey. Participants in the LOST program will spend one week each at Camp Hiawatha and Camp Vermilion. This program may also include a one or two night camping trip in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness.

The LOST program is also a prerequisite for our Staff-in-Training program. Contact Gretchen to learn more.

Staff-in-Training

(completed grades 11 & 12)

Looking for a new challenge in your VLM camp experience? Ever wondered what it would be like to be a Camp Counselor? Then our Staff-in-Training program might be for you.

Participants in our SIT program will spend two weeks serving as a Jr. Counselor with one of our staff. You’ll discover for yourself all that is involved in passing on the faith to younger campers while you learn a bit more about yourself and the gifts you have been given.

Staff-in-Training serve at both Camp Hiawatha and Camp Vermilion.

**Participating in the L.O.S.T. program is a prerequisite for the Staff-in-Training program**

Voyageurs Canoe Country

Experience team building, creation, Bible study and solitude in a whole new way! VLM has been offering canoe adventure in and around the Boundary Water Canoe Area Wilderness for over 50 years. Our fully trained guides will lead Christ-centered trips that will challenge you physically, mentally and spiritually. It’s an experience not to be missed!

Senior High youth can register as individuals for a Voyageurs Canoe Country trip the week of June 24-30, 2012. Just fill out a standard registration form and send in your deposit. Email Marie or call 218-780-2696 for more information.
