Elementary Programs

Whether you are coming for one day or an entire week, our programs provide elementary campers with a Christ-centered and fun camp experience. Campers will have a chance to meet new friends and grow in their faith as they enjoy time in God’s Great Northwoods!

Our Elementary programs start and end each day in prayer and worship. In between there is time for playing in the lake, games, creative arts, exploring nature and sharing with your cabin group. Discoverers

(Formerly Half Pint; completed grades K-2)

A one day program that is a great first taste of camp. Half Pint campers spend the day with 4-6 VLM staff, experiencing the waterfront, games, creative arts and Bible study. The day also includes a cookout lunch complete with S’mores. It’s all the fun of camp packed into 7 hours! Half Pint campers arrive at 9:00am and conclude their day with a closing sharing time at 4:00 (parents invited).

Venturers

(Formerly Mini Camp; completed grades 2-4)

This is the perfect introduction to overnight camping. Camp stay in a cabin with 6 cabin makes and one of our VLM counselors. Each day will be filled with worship, Bible study, games, swimming and creative arts. Each night ends with campfire and cabin devotions. Mini campers also experience a cookout supper during their stay. You’ll have so much fun, you’ll wish it was longer!

New in 2012 – Mini Camp is now a two night/three day program. The program will run Sunday to Tuesday OR Wednesday to Friday on the weeks that it is offered.

Seekers – NEW in 2012!

(completed grades 3-4)

A week long program just for campers who have completed 3rd and 4th grades. It will be a week filled with all the fun of camp – games, Bible study, swimming, creative arts, Grovers, worship, campfire and new friends – all designed with you in mind. Stay in a cabin with 6-8 cabin mates and one of our counselors. It’s a week not to be missed!

Trekkers - NEW in 2012!

(completed grades 5-6)

Here is a week designed with you in mind! A week long program which will challenge 5th and 6th graders while you enjoy all that you love about camp – swimming, worship, games, Bible study, cooking out, meeting new friends and campfire. 5th and 6th graders stay in a cabin with 6-8 cabin mates and a VLM staff member. It will be a week of experiencing new things and growing in your faith – don’t miss out!

Looking for a way to improve your skills on the ice, on the court or in the pool, while growing in your faith? Our sport focused programs have that and more. In addition to training time each day, campers will experience the games, worship, Bible study, campfires and friends that make Camp Hiawatha and Camp Vermilion such great places.
